On January 26th, 2016, we had the honor of returning to the City/Source local supplier showcase at the Fashion Institute of Technology. The showcase serves as an "event for designers and brands to meet New York's premiere fashion manufacturers all in one location."
Recently, NRI exhibited at the AIA 2015 Conference in Atlanta, a great experience for anyone seeking true innovation for the AEC industry. Manufacturers introduced new building products at the show, many possessing sustainable features to differentiate them from others.
Earlier this month, I attended Autodesk University in sunny Las Vegas. AU is an annual event that attracts about 9,000 Autodesk users. Attendees are primarily designers, engineers, executives and techies from the AEC, Entertainment and Manufacturing communities. While at AU I had the opportunity to experience in-depth training on 3D design and printing, reality capture (scanning and photogrammetry), and the chance to learn about all the newest technology that will impact the AEC community. The following are a few highlights from my time at Autodesk University.
Recently NRI partnered with SMART Technologies for firstLOOK 2014, hosted at the New York Design Center. This year marked a decade of contract product introductions to New York design professionals. Four floors of companies and showrooms participated in the event that aimed to promote new innovative products in design. The products on display at firstLOOK 2014 ranged from collaborative technologies to design furniture for either professional or personal use.
